Leila Ford about Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home - Lake Worth Memory Gardens, 10/21/2020

Michael and his entire team worked tirelessly to make my mother's memorial service stress free for my family. Michael followed up with several members of my family to check-in with us, and to offer any additional support during this difficult time. We are forever grateful to Michael, and have already recommended his services to others seeking to prepare for funerals and/or memorial services for family members.

C K about Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home - Lake Worth Memory Gardens, 08/26/2019

On August 25 2019 I visited my fathers gravesite to pay respect. As I was walking up to his gravesite located in the Muslim garden I was appalled and shocked as to what I was seeing. The neighboring gravesite was encroaching on my fathers gravesite. The restrictions that are to be followed in the garden are not being upheld. When my family buried my father Allah bless his soul we were told by the cemetery that there are restrictions to being buried in the Muslim garden. There are grave marker type size and wording restrictions and the grave marker is the only adornment allowed. We were told these restrictions are in place due to people taking advantage of prior burials that happened years before and glorifying the graves. Being a Muslim family we are well aware grave markers should be respectfully simple. In the Muslim religion the glorification of graves is not allowed. It was narrated that AbulHayaaj alAsadi said. Ali ibn Abi Taalib said to me Shall I not send you on the same mission as the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings of Allah be upon him sent me. Do not leave any statue without erasing it and do not leave any raised grave without leveling it. AlShawkaani stated the words Do not leave any raised grave without leveling it. means that in the Sunnah a grave should not be made very high and there should be no differentiation between those who were virtuous and those who were not. In todays terms the above is stating all graves should be the same and they shouldnt be distinguished from one another. Since my last visit the neighboring grave has been adorned with a gravesite marker as well as a large granite plaque below the marker. The plaque is wider than the grave marker and when placed was not properly centered and has damaged the area of my fathers gravesite. The gravesites are zero lot lines as it is and the plaque being wider than the gravestone marker which is not allowed in the first place has encroached on my fathers gravesite. It appears there are no concerns or respect for neighboring gravesites. The cemetery is not upholding the restrictions the leaders of the Muslim community has deemed. When will this be rectified.
