When minutes feel like hours, I found that everyone at CJF responded more quickly than I even hoped (and I am high maintenance.) Additionally,Rabbi Debra Nesselson is an incredible rabbi and her presentation of our Father/Husband/Grandfather/Uncle/Brother was as if she had known him for many years. She captured everything we shared with her and spoke at the service in a warm, compassionate and honoring manner. I highly recommend contacting her. Finally, David Jacobson suggested and arranged a Military Funeral where two armed forces individuals were there waiting at the grave site and presented us with a flag and then played Taps. It was such a tribute to his years in service during WWII. Thank you David. Shalom.

David Jacobson is absolutely outstanding. Professional, knowledgeable, intelligent, experienced, sensitive, compassionate. He guided me through the most painful time in my life with tremendous skill and dignity, giving me great confidence. And as a result, a priceless gift -- the time I needed to grieve. Knowing that my father's service and interment were being implemented exactly according to my family's directions, I was able to catch my breath and turn my attention to myself and my child, my siblings and our mother. Given the circumstances it might sound odd to describe working with David as a pleasure but indeed it was. He is a consummate professional who possesses the skill and genius to make even the saddest time in one's life that much easier to face, process and get through to the other side.

David Jacobson and his entire staff is so helpful. I currently live in Paradise Valley, AZ. I moved from the Chicago area to serve as the Director of Education at Temple Solel of Paradise Valley, AZ. We had a congregant that needed a Shiva candle and when I told David Jacobson this story he didn't hesitate to have his staff call and send us Shiva and Yahrzeit candles immediately so that our congregants would not need to have to order from Amazon and wait for delivery in their time of need. It is this generosity, that I had come to expect when I was in Chicago as the educator at Congregation Sukkat Shalom. I am not Jewish but needed to arrange a funeral for my companion who had limited funds. I was treated with the utmost respect by Mr David Jacobson, the owner. The service he provided and compassion was astounding. Furthermore, I have never seen such a beautiful chapel with sunlight and airy rooms. No detail has been omitted. I can never thank them enough. I'm not Jewish but this place was beautiful and so welcoming when I went to the services of a dear friend. Imagine a building that's so bright and fresh and airy that it makes traditional non-denominational funeral homes look like something out of the 1800's. This isn't a scary place, it isn't morbid, it's exactly the kind of hopeful environment I wanted to be in.

I can't say enough good things about David Jacobson and all of the wonderful people at Chicago Jewish Funerals. They are professional, wise, supportive, and respectful. As a rabbi, I always recommend that families choose Chicago Jewish funerals because I know that they know how to take care of people. I just asked David and one of his colleagues to come to our synagogue to teach our religious school kids about Jewish traditions related to death and dying. They were consummate educators - engaging, open, and thoughtful. It was a true delight to have them in our religious school.

Today was one of the most painful days of my life. We buried my dear sweet Mom today. 2 years ago was the other most painful day when we buried my Dad. Both times we used Chicago Jewish Funerals and the magnificent David Jacobson. There's a good reason he got our repeat business. The incredible staff is just so good at what they do. David is incredibly compassionate and he shares a piece of himself with his clients. During both of my very difficult losses, he demonstrated professionalism, faith, and respect. I never once felt like I wasn't being supported and he guided me and my family through the grieving process with grace and dignity. I met David through a good friend and I am so glad I did. He runs a top notch company that is knowledgeable in Jewish funeral customs. He makes things easy to understand in what can be a confusing time. I hope I don't have to use his services again for a very long time, but rest assured, when the time comes...it will be with David and Chicago Jewish Funerals.

We recently buried my mother-in-law. Since I am not a immediate family member, I did not do the arrangements, but I want to commend this organization and it's marketing firm for setting the highest possible bar for service, integrity, and decorum. I have watched ads on cable for Chicago Jewish Funerals and found that the images and messages presented are both accurate and in the best of taste. As in other reviews, I found David Jacobson and staff to be models of caring and capability. Our service was at 9 AM. David Jacobson was there with us at 8 AM and oversaw the events of the day with the entire family until we left the cemetery. He called later at the shiva to see if there was anything more he could do. Susan assigned to us and Charley our driver were impeccable.

I recently had to have an interaction with Chicago Jewish Funerals in Skokie. Outstanding, if I could give them ten stars I would. This is always a difficult time and very emotional. However, I was blessed to have been assisted by Tim Shaughnessy and David Jacobson. Tim is a mensch - showed empathy, understanding, patient with us, and explained the entire funeral service and all that it involves. David Jacobson was the icing on the cake. Since this is sadly part of all our lives, I would highly recommend this funeral home. Please ask for Tim &/or David. Thank you for making this very difficult time bearable.

I wasn't quite sure about the posting of a review for such a personal occurance such as a loss of a loved one, but perhaps there is no more of a meaningful time to do so and recommend his services. I want to say thank you to David and his staff for really making the passing of our Mother as colorful of remberance as she lived. Not only was every need considered and provided for with great sensitivity, but our request to have it done in her unique favorite color was accomodated perfectly. We SO greatly appreciate the extra care he gave us, which as we have now learned, is everyday business for David.

helping me with my father's funeral. My dad had a service at the Skokie location, but also wished to be buried in Israel. David and CJF helped with any questions I had, and anything at all that I needed, not to mention everything was handled with kindness. They facilitated the entire trip/burial and details for us in Israel...for that I am forever grateful. Even after my father was put to rest, they are still helping me whenever I have a question or need help with something. I'm beyond impressed with them and very thankful for everything they have done for me.
