DJ and Priscilla are the epitome of kindness. Of course it takes a special person to do their job but they go beyond the call of duty. You certainly feel their love for humankind and their devotion to their ministry. I promise that after meeting with them, you will feel a tremendous weight lifted off of your shoulders. They confidently guided me through a difficult time without the slightest feeling of rushing, taking the time to celebrate my loved one. For that, I will forever be grateful. My husband of near 44 yrs passed on April 23 2018 having lived with metastatic kidney cancer treatment for 13yrs. About 2 weeks earlier our son and I met with DJ to prepare Jerry was now under the care of Hunterdon Hospice. My first visit to this funeral home was in 1961 when my grandmother services were held here followed by many more friends and family over the years. This was my first return visit since this facility became Wright and Ford and major renovations had been made to the interior. I immediately embraced the changes beginning with being greeted at the door by DJ and support dogs Nalani and Tammy. The girls helped reduce our anxiety as we went on to an unhurried conversation making the many decisions regarding Jerrys Life Celebration when the time presented. Preplanning even if it was only 2 weeks in advance was a blessing for us. To have already established a rapport with DJ when he arrived at our home to take over the care of Jerry was comforting. The attentive compassion and respect DJ and James provided that day is one of the many images that will forever be in my memory. These men took the time to make up the hospital bed and arrange the room to a more normal. A personal touch I would not have anticipated which helped ease our pain. The obituary created by DJ is a demonstration of DJs listening skills attention to detail and the ability to summarize what we talked about at our first meeting into a wonderful representation of Jerry and his life. It has taken me time to submit a review as I would prefer to list every detail that was wonderful, as well as unexpected or just plain perfect. Starting with our first meeting with DJ to creating a Life Celebration that Jerry so deserved to the closing of his casket there is too much enumerate. Odd as it may sound I smile when I remember this day and for that and every tiny detail I am sincerely grateful and forever extend Heartfelt Thanks to DJ and his caring staff. Lore
