The Warford Mortuary was founded in 1962 by Charles E. and Wilma Warford and is the oldest continuously operated African American business in Amarillo. We have proudly served the Texas Panhandle for over 50 years and look forward to continuing service in the years to come. In the early 1990’s the businesses' name was changed to Warford-Walker Mortuary to reflect the growing partnership between Charles E. Warford and Richard A. Walker and their commitment to the future. Since 2014, Warford-Walker Mortuary has been owned and operated by the Warford Mortuary Company, LLC and will continue the legacy established by Charles E. Warford. Our Rose Chapel provides comfortable seating for up to 100 family and friends. We carry a full line of Batesville Caskets and Wilbert Vaults in our state of the art selection room. Casket and Vaults can be viewed electronically or in person. We offer pre-arranged funeral policies through Funeral Directors Life Insurance Company.
